Business Analyst

Primary Functions: 

Directs, designs and implements a comprehensive business analysis/product management strategy. Functions as the central resource with development, marketing, quality and test, as the products and services move to completion and distribution. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products from product/service definition through production and release. Ensures that products and services delivered meet specifications and quality goals. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends to business analysis/product management activities.

Key Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Facilitate and capture the elicitation of business and technical requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, market research and task and workflow analysis
  • Lead cross functional projects, apportioning work tasks, tracking progress, motivating resources and ensuring the highest quality deliverables are achieved
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed:
    • Functional requirements
    • System requirements
    • Use Cases
    • User Interface
    • Cross-functional process flows
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously while keeping in time and budget constraints
  • Work independently with business and engineering personnel, customers, subject experts and executives to define and illustrate concepts, assess technological constraints and formulate clear options, tradeoffs and recommendations related to features and scope
  • Strong analytical and business analyst skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, leveraging tools and systems in consistent fashion and using natural language
  • Collaborate with developers, subject matter experts and stakeholders to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Act as liaison between business units, technology and support teams
  • Works with and directs 3rd party vendors as necessary to accomplish business objectives
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements: 
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Minimum of 8 or more years of related work experience, 5-7 years preferably in the healthcare industry
    • Computer Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
    • Limited knowledge of Microsoft Access
    • Limited knowledge of Microsoft Visio
